Rochard (PC)

While Trine gets most of the attention among puzzle platformers on the PC these days, Rochard is another game in the genre well worth a look.  It goes with a more sci-fi theme to it as you play as an asteroid miner named John Rochard, and you have to stop some evil doers from getting their hands on some ancient technology while solving puzzles and blasting bad guys.

Sonic the Hedgehog (Genesis / Mega Drive)

When Sega settled on a platforming mascot of their own, the battle really began to heat up between themselves and Nintendo.  We even got introduced to silly terminology like "blast processing". :p

A.R.E.S. Screenshots (PC)

A.R.E.S. is a very short Mega Man clone.  Not a bad game if you can get it on the cheap.  Wait for a Steam sale! =D
